  Diane Dickens  b.1962

Diane is an artist living in Northern Ohio. With a full time job, Diane creates
in her spare time, at her home studio. Her evenings and weekends are
primarily spent making art, listening to music and collecting discarded
objects to turn into treasures. Most recently her attention has turned
to bottle caps, a medium traditionally used in folk art. Many of her works
depict animals, musicians and skeletons. Blues music has been
very prominent in forming her love for the folk art genre.

In 2007 Diane was presented a jurors award for a body of work consisting
of various bottle cap figures, including her Mississippi John Hurt lamp,
at Spaces Gallery in Cleveland, Ohio. She is a past member of E.I.O. artist
co-op in Cleveland and has had several solo shows at Millworks Gallery in
Akron, Ohio.

In 2008, Diane took part in an art show with wildlife painter, Jim Dickens, her father, to whom she attributes her art talent to. She sold over 70 of her original hand painted bottle cap crabs and many larger pieces that can be viewed in the Gallery section of this site.

Diane's future plans include taking her art on the road to participate
in outdoor art shows. Check back with her site for future show schedules.
